A high-level Kuwaiti educational delegation led by Professor Osama Hussein Sultan Najm, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education at the Ministry of Education in the State of Kuwait, completed a two-day official working visit to the country to review Qatar's experience in developing public education. 

In order to get acquainted with the Qatari experience in the field of education development, the Kuwaiti delegation was briefed on the indicators of education quality in Qatar presented by Mr. Khaled Abdullah Al-Harqan, the Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Evaluation Affairs,  who explained the system for measuring the quality of students' academic achievement, the system for evaluating school performance in public schools and kindergartens, evaluating school performance in private schools and kindergartens, in addition to an explanation of the comprehensive educational survey.

Mrs. Rima Abu Khadija, Director of Curriculum and Learning Resources Department in the Education Affairs Sector, briefed the delegation on Qatar's experience to develop the educational curriculum. She reviewed the stages of the project implementation, beginning with the stage of preparing the general framework of the educational curriculum for the State of Qatar , then developing the education plan as well as reviewing and revising the educational curriculum according to a globally approved procedures until the preparation and application of the developed curricula in the schools during the academic year 2018-2019.

The delegation was also briefed on the experience of Qatar in the field of technical and vocational education and the advantages offered to students of specialized schools, which include technical schools and banking schools. She explained the integrative curriculum and the experience of using engineers in the disciplines of mechatronics, mechanics and programming in teaching alongside the faculty who were trained to teach the integrative curriculum professionally.

The school's specialized laboratories and indicators of achievement were presented, including the acceptance of all the school's graduates in scientific disciplines in universities, including 27 students who were accepted into the Emiri List universities.

In turn, Ms. Maryam Al-Nisf Al-Buainain, Director of the Early Education Department in the Educational Affairs Sector, presented the policy of early education and the experience of the school readiness test that was applied in the preparatory stage to measure the readiness of pre-school students to join the first grade, and other topics, where they exchanged experiences, best practices and lessons learned from the Qatari experience in the field of public education development with senior officials of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

As part of the visit, the Kuwaiti delegation's program included a field visit to the Training and Educational Development Center at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, during which it reviewed the center's experience, its objectives, the quality of training and educational development programs in force in Qatar, and how to benefit from them in the Kuwaiti education sector. The delegation met with Ms. Hessa Al-Aali, director of the center and heads of departments, who explained to the delegation the policies, plans and programs of training and educational development, and answered the delegation's questions and inquiries.

The delegation met with the ministry's private education affairs sector, in the presence of Mr. Omar Abdulaziz Al-Naama, assistant undersecretary for private education affairs, and Mr. Rashid Ahmed Al-Amri, director of the private school's affairs department, as well as a number of sector officials. The delegation learned about the ministry's private education sector's tasks and responsibilities and the procedures for obtaining licenses for the establishment of private educational institutions, such as schools, kindergartens, educational and training centers, and nurseries, as well as the mechanism for supervising and following up on them from the academic and administrative perspectives.

Professor Osama Hussain Sultan Najm, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education at the Ministry of Education and head of the visiting Kuwaiti educational delegation, praised Qatar's experience in the field of education development in a press statement following the visit, saying that Qatar had achieved tangible successes and a great leap in the development of education, placing it in an advanced position in the classifications. He emphasized that their visit to Qatar was intended to learn about this rich experience, study the prospects for educational cooperation between Kuwait and Qatar, and consider how to benefit from their experiences.

In his press statement, the head of the Kuwaiti delegation attributed the quality of education in Qatar to several reasons, including; Its use of modern and advanced technological methods has affected the educational process, in addition to its interest in the learner's needs, interests and tendencies, providing an attractive educational environment, its adoption of diversification of educational paths, its attraction to specialized and international schools and its role in raising the learner's reception efficiency, in addition to Qatar's interest in the Qatari identity and its keenness to develop the spirit of scientific research among learners. The ministry used local and international expertise to develop curricula, integrate it with technological progress, and assign local and global capabilities and competencies.

In his press statement, the head of the Kuwaiti delegation also expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Qatari side for the generous hospitality and said that their visit to Qatar was successful by all standards in organization and management, valuing in this context the Qatari side's keenness to present the distinguished and successful and to present information in all transparency and perfection, facilitating the delegation's mission and its success, calling for more From integration in the educational aspect, he also called on the Qatari side to review the experience of Kuwait in the field of education.

At the conclusion of his press statement, he stressed that the prospects for cooperation between Qatar and Kuwait in the fields of education stem from the strong historical relations between the two countries, as well as from the shared customs, traditions, religion and common values. Besides, He also appreciated the continuous coordination with regard to curricula, especially scientific ones, and benefiting from Qatar's experience in technical, vocational and specialized education; In addition to the convergence of the strategic vision in the development of human capital and the exchange of experiences in the educational and educational fields, especially school management systems and the school environment, and the common interest in the process of teacher training, development, raising their efficiency and other topics.

It is worth noting that the Kuwaiti educational delegation included in its membership: Mr. Osama Hussein Sultan Najm - Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education, Dr. Badr Bejad Saeed Al-Mutairi - Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs and Mr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Ibrahim Ismail - Head of the Education Sector and General Manager of Al-Najat Schools.
