The Ministry of Culture has been keen and continues to provide platforms for displaying Qatari culture and art to ensure that Qatari culture is part of the fabric of the Qatar World Cup 2022, where intellectuals and artists represent a cultural interface that deserves care to contribute to conveying Qatar’s civilized image to the world and to receive the audiences and coexist with them during their stay in event days in Qatar.

In this context, Doha witnessed the holding of many events and art exhibitions, where H.E. Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of Culture, inaugurated at (VIM Gallery), (Hafad) Exhibition by Ahmed Al-Maadeed, which includes 45 various paintings that simulate the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. After the opening, His Excellency made a tour during which he was briefed about the paintings displayed in the exhibition. The exhibition will continue until next January 15.

The idea of ​​the “Hadaf” exhibition, as explained by the artist/Ahmed Al-Maadeed, came in previous statements before the start of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and it contains a collection of valuable artworks that simulate Qatari culture with a distinctive sporting character, especially as it coincides with the launch of the events of the World Cup held in the State of Qatar, noting that (the exhibition, with its Qatari touch, welcomes, through works of art, the honorable visitors of Qatar, as in this exhibition we can reflect an aspect of our Qatari culture through various artistic symbols).

He stressed that the World Cup period is an exceptional period that required the display of various artworks that introduce visitors and the public to Qatari culture, explaining that he was able, with this exhibition, to combine culture, environment and sports and translate them into many paintings and artistic images.

He pointed out that the visit of H.E. the Minister of Culture to the exhibition is considered supportive of him in continuing to hold similar and other diverse and purposeful exhibitions that enrich the Qatari art scene.

He added: The exhibition contains a variety of paintings, sports art figures and many other works that are appropriate for the launch of the World Cup, (since through this exhibition we will be able to deliver a clear artistic message that mixes art and sport, as they are two sides of the same coin in the most important and prominent sporting event.

Souq Waqif Art Center also hosted an art exhibition entitled (Doha of Art) to display art paintings for the first time centered on Doha and its hosting of the global event of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, in which artists focused on the great development that Qatar is witnessing in the field of sports urbanization, including World Cup stadiums, sports and football players. The exhibition will also be an opportunity to inform local and international audiences about the environment and heritage of Qatar.

The exhibition witnesses the participation of the most prominent Qatari artists, including Ibrahim Khalfan, the plastic artist, sports analyst and former Qatari national team player in addition to the artists: Faisal Al-Abdullah, Saleh Al-Obaidly Ahmed Noah, Mona Al-Badr, Maryam Al-Asiri, Duha Al-Sulaiti, Hanadi Al-Darwish, Masoud Al-Balushi, Zina Abbara, Al-Moez Al-Ajimi, Tariq Al-Khatib, Wafaa Al-Sebai, Shetel, Christina and Michael Semaan.
