His body was found lifeless in his house at 8:30 pm on Monday and, according to reports, the wounds indicate of a violent death that will likely be investigated as a murder. The news came as a shock to the Sligo community, especially to his neighbours at Cartron, Sligo, who knew him as a kind and caring person and cannot make sense of the crime.
Gardaí have sealed off the crime scene for further investigation.
