Thirteen national production projects “from the homeland” are participating in Darb Al Saai this year, and they are presenting their products in an atmosphere that attracts the masses.

Fatima Al-Nuaimi, the Assistant Director of the Family Affairs Department at the Ministry of Social Development and Family, said that participation in Darb Al Saai activities this year comes within the framework of highlighting the identity of “from the homeland”, which is the new identity of projects and industries with Qatari hands, and it also comes in conjunction with the State of Qatar’s hosting of the World Cup.

Al-Nuaimi indicated that the number of participating families is 13, whose products are characterized by a variety of products from home projects “from the homeland” which is aimed at introducing visitors to local products made with Qatari hands, indicating that Darb Al-Saai is one of the most important marketing windows for national production projects.

The Assistant Director of the Family Affairs Department explained that these participations and events give the opportunity to present and directly manufacture some projects in front of the public, such as naqdah embroidery and bashout embroidery. It also enhances the economy by highlighting household projects and their production, quality and upgrading.

She added that the national production projects “From the Homeland” participate this year in more than one event in the country on the occasion of hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, including the show in the stadiums and the village of Ain Mohammad in the north and Musheireb, and the winter carnival in the old market in Al Wakrah in cooperation with Namaa with instant photography of Qatari fashion and local food and country handicrafts.

For her part, Sheikha Khamis, owner of the “Sofra Yesterday and Today’s” popular food store, said that she is participating for the second time in Darb Al Saai activities, and that her participation came through the Ministry of Social Development and the Family.

She explained that she offers a group of popular foods and traditional sweets that are in great demand, explaining that her products are very popular and popular among visitors to Darb Al Saai.

Mrs. Umm Saeed is participating in a group of distinguished exhibits from the Sadu industry, stressing that this traditional craft is popular during the National Day. Umm Saeed indicated that she is still practicing this craft despite her old age and that there are many Qatari families asking for her products that decorate their homes, and she also markets many other products.

Mariam Bojsum, owner of “Dakbja” shop for gifts and handicrafts, explained that this is the first participation in Darb Al Saai, noting that this participation expands the circle of acquaintances and customers for her project, and continued saying that “Darb Al Saai market event is keen to highlight the handicrafts of productive families, and to present them to the public in a good way.”

In turn, Ghada from the “Perfume of Kings” store said that their products vary between women’s perfumes, incense, and all things specialized in perfume, which are made manually and suit all tastes, explaining that this participation introduced them to the market better.
