According to the Ministry of Transport, the minister inspected work at Hamad International Airport’s Control Tower - a facility highly equipped with advanced air navigation technologies that keep pace with universal standards. HIA is poised for excellent services during the tournament as aircraft movement is expected to exceed 1400 a day.

He also inspected work at Qatar Air Traffic Control Center, which is considered the most advanced in the Middle East. Its virtual tower is second-to-none in the region equipped with sophisticated technologies that allow air controllers to manage aircraft and vehicle ground movement and monitor it remotely. The Center also features a well technologically equipped 360-degree 3D simulator room, all the facilities necessary for operational services, a search and rescue service, aeronautical information service and a communication, navigation & surveillance (CNS) office.

H.E. Al-Sulaiti’s next stop was at the Firefighting and Rescue Department. One of its major functions is assessing aircraft ground movement around the clock in the approach, landing, ramp and parking areas of an aerodrome and develop preliminary actions to respond to any emergency.
