Ministry of Culture participates in the Lebanon International Theater Festival
The Ministry of Culture, represented by the Theater Affairs Center, participated in the tenth session of the Lebanon International Theater Festival, whose activities began in the city of Tripoli last Tuesday night, under the slogan (Tripoli, the Capital of Arab Culture)

According to the Ministry of Culture, Qatari participation in this festival comes through the theatrical performance of the play (The Sultan), which is produced by the Dar Arts Production Team, written and directed by Salem Al-Mansouri.An elite group of actors participate in the tournament, including Muhammad Al-Muhammadi, Sameh Al-Hajari, Ali Al-Sharshani, Siham Al-Airj, and Khaled Al-Tamimi. And the scenography of Abdullah Al-Bakri.
The Qatari participation in this festival comes through the theatrical performance of the play (the Sultan), which is produced by the Arts House artistic production team, written and directed by Salem Al Mansouri, and an elite group of actors including Mohammed al-Mohammadi, Sameh al-hijari, Ali al-sharshani, Siham Al-Eraj, Khalid al-Tamimi and the scenography of Abdullah Al-Bakri participate in the championship.
Such participations reflect the extent of the Qatari presence at Arab events and festivals, and the confidence that it enjoys in these circles, while the play (the Sultan) reflects the prevailing Arab culture’s view of power and politics, as it reinforces the message that (people’s satisfaction is a goal that is not realized. The play deals with the story of the sailor (Khamis) who refuses to stand for election to the presidency of the island, due to the lack of an heir, and events interact through a dream that increases his determination to move away from the world of power and politics, because of the great responsibility entailed in exercising it.
The play was shown in many Arab and international festivals, while the actor Salem Al Mansouri has previously won many awards, as well as received several honors at the local, Gulf and Arab levels, due to his long theatrical career and his contributions, which provided the Qatari theater with many works.
