The Ministry of Public Health has reported that, in cooperation with regional and international bodies, it is monitoring the latest developments on Marburg virus outbreak following its detection in Guinea and Tanzania.
The notice posted on the Ministry's website urges citizens and residents to temporarily avoid non-essential travel to the two countries where the disease has spread and calls on those who are already there to follow the preventive measures issued by the local health authorities.
It also advises those coming from Guinea and Tanzania to watch for symptoms within (21) days of arrival, such as high temperature accompanied by one of the following symptoms: headache, severe fatigue with muscle pain, diarrhea, vomiting, rash, self-isolate immediately when symptoms appear, and call Qatar Health Care Unified Contact Center '16000".
