The National Library in Rome celebrates the “Book of Jasra”

The book is the first publication of the Al-Jasra Cultural and Social Club, affiliated to the Ministry of Culture.

According to the Ministry of Culture, the symposium came within the framework of the activities of the Egyptian Cultural Office for the cultural season 2022/2023 and within the activities of the Egyptian Cultural Week for the Arabic language and Egyptian culture in Italy, and in commemoration of the celebration of the International Day of the Arabic Language. The symposium was presented by Dr. Marwa Ali Fawzi, the Egyptian Cultural Attache at the Egyptian Embassy in Rome.

The translator, Dr. Najla Wali presented the most important contents of the book “Emotions”, which also deals with the challenges of the information technology revolution and its impact on a person’s vision of himself and society, especially the new generation affected by this revolution in light of the digitization of education. in which the book was published. She also talked about Al-Jasra Club, which is one of the oldest cultural organizations in the Arab Gulf countries, and about the series in which the book was published.

She also handled the translation for the writer who talked about his book and the importance of philosophy and human studies in the modern era. Gallimberti expressed his happiness at the publication of his first work translated into Arabic, which he described as the most charming and rich language.

Gallimberti talked about emotions and feelings since Plato until today, and their situation today in light of the new developments in communication and the impact of the Internet and the digitization of school curricula on feelings on the one hand, and on the ability to achieve academic achievement on the other hand.

The symposium was well received and the audience applauded her a lot. In his responses to the audience’s questions, the Italian philosopher called for protecting the future of the “digital generation”, which has not yet realized that the electronic network is not a “means” at their disposal that they use as they please, but rather a “world” that belongs to a category and concept different from the category of means, in which they are completely immersed. Hence, this world molds them without realizing it, and changes their ways of thinking and feelings, and causes what is called “the dissipation of reality”, where it becomes difficult to distinguish between the real and virtual world in which they live through social media, which leads to “schizophrenia from society” as a result of the collective isolation of those who live.

The symposium was attended by representatives of a number of Arab embassies and a large number of Italian and Arab audiences.
