According to the Ministry of Public Health, the agreement aims to strengthen Qatar's healthcare system, as well as to ensure bolstering growth and excellence in all basic public health areas, capacity building, and exchange of expertise in various fields of public health.

As part of the agreement implementation, a CDC delegation of experts visited the State of Qatar recently to assess training needs and develop joint action plans.
During the consultative visit, the technical and training needs of the health sector in Qatar were assessed to provide a deeper understanding of the country's public health system, including disease surveillance mechanisms, targeted training sector, supervisory and teaching capabilities.

During the visit, several important activities were organized, including meetings of the visiting delegation with representatives of MoPH departments and sections and representatives of the entire healthcare sector in Qatar, in addition to field visits to relevant government, healthcare and academic institutions.
The FETP is being implemented worldwide and aims to build the core capacity of the public health workforce, strengthen programs for disease surveillance, outbreak response and prevention, and public health protection.   The success of the program in Qatar will support the implementation of plans to create a national workforce equipped with the necessary tools and field skills and develop innovative and practical solutions to respond to and monitor disease outbreaks.
