The press conference was held in the presence of Mr. Ibrahim Al-Aidan, Director of Al-Yarmouk Preparatory School for Boys, Mr. Khalid Al-Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communication Department of Qatar Football Association, Captain Saeed Juma Al-Hitmi, General Supervisor of "Anta Muhim (You Are Important)" initiative at the Ministry of Interior, and Mr. Ahmed Youssef Bu Al-Fin, Physical Education Instructor in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

The World Cup Day is considered the culmination of the activities of the Physical Education Department in the Ministry's Department of Educational Guidance, which presented numerous activities aimed at promoting the World Cup 2022 in Qatar. These activities aimed also at clarifying the importance of supporting the national team of Qatar during the tournament and to increase the students' awareness and culture of the importance of sports activities organized by the state. It also aimed to instill the “World Cup personality" and its values in the students, as well as making them feel pride with the Qatari identity and become active citizens in the 2022 World Cup. Besides, the activities targeted to enhance the ability to deal and interact with other societies, and enhance the national and cultural identity by involving students in the World Cup activities through various and multiple programs and events. It also helped to activate the community partnership between schools and the outside community, including sports and social bodies, parents, professional players, and ambassadors.

Mr. Ibrahim Al-Aidan, Director of Al-Yarmouk School, emphasized the importance of these activities in raising students' awareness and instilling a love of sports, particularly football, in them. He emphasized that the World Cup will include a football tournament with 32 teams as well as a Fine Arts exhibition for the World Cup Qatar 2022.

For his part, Mr. Khalid Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communications Department of Qatar Football Association, said that these events are the result of the partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education with the aim of supporting interdependence and spreading a culture of support and cooperation among students because they are an important and essential segment and we hope to see them players in the national teams.

For his part, Captain Saad Jumaa Al-Hitmi, the general supervisor of "Anta Muhim" "You are Important" initiative, expressed his happiness and pride in the initiative, stressing that the Ministry of Interior, through the initiative, is working to educate students about the importance of the World Championship.

Ahmed Bu Alvin, the physical education director in the Department of Educational Guidance at the Ministry of Education, said that the administration was keen to implement the initiatives and activities related to the World Cup (under the slogan “Be the 12th player") which included all school stages during the first term of the academic year and it consisted of four activities:

  • "What if I were an international referee 2022" for the secondary stage, which was hosted by Ahmed Bin Mohammed Secondary School for Boys in cooperation with the Referees Committee of the Qatar Football Association.
  • "Sports Shows Competition" for the primary and model levels, in cooperation with the Qatar Women's Sports Committee.
  • ​"The World Cup Young Commentator Competition 2022" in cooperation with Abdullah bin Al-Zubair Model School for Boys at the level of the model stage.

The conclusion will be with "World Cup Day" on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Al-Yarmouk Preparatory School for Boys - Bin Omran, at 8:00 in the morning.
