According to the Ministry of Transport, H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti, the Minister of Transport, inaugurated two boats at Doha Port today. These vessels are the latest additions to Mwani Qatar's fleet.

The first vessel, named Aljurula, serves as a multifunctional garbage and oil spill collection vessel. It is employed in the cleaning of Doha Port, Hamad Port, and Al-Ruwais Port basins, utilizing environmentally friendly practices. Aljurula, measuring 12.6 meters in length, is capable of collecting up to 25,000 liters of spilled oil and garbage. It can effectively collect spilled oils within a 200-meter radius, and its draft is 1 meter deep.

The second vessel, ALSAMLAH, boasts a length of 32.7 meters and is dedicated to maintaining navigational aids such as buoys. It also plays a crucial role in the maintenance of commercial and tourism ports, contributing to safer and more efficient maritime traffic for all types of vessels in Qatari waters.

The introduction of these two boats underscores MOT's commitment to safeguarding the Qatari marine environment and enhancing maritime navigation safety and security. This aligns with the objectives of Qatar's national plan to combat oil pollution and complies with relevant regional and international conventions.

The launch event was attended by H.E. Saad bin Ali Al Kharji, Deputy Chairperson of Qatar Tourism, Brig. Dr. Abdulhadi Mohammad Zabin Al Dosari, Chairperson of the Permanent Committee for the Management of Maritime Ports, and several officials from Mwani Qatar.
