Ministry of Culture participates in the Arab Publishers Conference
The conference will witness many participations from Arab countries, with the attendance of 35 publishers and speakers

The Ministry of Culture has reported that it is participating in the sixth session of the Arab Publishers Conference, organized by the Emirates Publishers Association and the Arab Publishers Association, in conjunction with the 41st session of the Sharjah International Book Fair 2022.
Its activities will be concluded today. The conference will discuss mechanisms and proposals for developing the Arab publishing sector and working to find innovative solutions to overcome the difficulties and challenges facing the publishing sector in the Arab world to reach a better future that keeps pace with the rapid global developments, especially in the fields of modern technology. The first day witnessed four sessions, and the first session dealt with (Book Fair in the Time of Digitization), and the second session discussed (Copyright Rights in the Light of the Pandemic, between Challenges and Opportunities), and (Development of the Publishing and Publisher Industry and Addressing the Skills Gap) in the third session, while Fourth session discussed (Post-pandemic Arab book marketing opportunities).
Mr. Riad Ahmed Yassin, Director of the Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum, said: Based on the objectives of the forum, we seek to emphasize the importance of participating in such enriching-related events and conferences, which contribute to gaining experiences and taking the opinions of experts in the field of publishing and distribution to contribute to the development and advancement of the Qatari publishing sector.
He stressed the forum’s interest in working on cooperation and strengthening joint relations between the heads of publishers’ associations to promote the level of the publishing industry, noting the importance of developing this sector by relying on diversity and comprehensiveness to develop and implement the publishing strategy prepared by it, within a plan that relies primarily on carefully monitored data to ensure development and success. By uniting efforts and adopting the well-known previous experiences similar to the experience of Qatar in this field, to push the wheel of development towards a strong publishing sector capable of facing the current difficulties and challenges.
