Registration for home students in public schools began on August 21, 2022
The School Affairs Department of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education's Education Affairs Sector announced that registration of adult education students in the home system in governmental schools for the academic year 2022/2023 will begin on Sunday, August 21, 2022, and will continue until the end of working hours on Thursday, September 29, 2022

The Schools Affairs Department has identified a package of directions for student registration, which includes communicating with home students in the adult education system who were registered in the previous academic year 2021/2022, registering those who wish to complete their education, communicating with students who are registered in the electronic registration stage for the academic year 2022/2023, verifying the validity of the submitted documents and the student's signature on the registration form in the adult education system - homes and approving the students' data on the National Student Information System NSIS.
The directives also included the necessity of handing over textbooks to them immediately after the registration process, and that registration certificates should be issued and delivered to students. For students of the eleventh and twelfth grades, registered students are given an attachment showing the name and courses of the educational track, and new students are registered with the adult education system - the home system through the NSIS Student Information System.
The School Affairs Department clarified that all nationalities are allowed to register in governmental schools, in accordance with the registering conditions in the adult education system, including all nationalities that do not meet the compulsory education conditions (those over the age of 18 or who have completed the preparatory stage, whichever comes first); And students who have been removed from day school due to (marriage / repeated failure / work), in accordance with Ministry of Education and Higher Education policies.
In terms of admission age and grades, the admission age requirement will be applied to newcomers to adult education as shown in the table below:

Regarding the registration fees, the administration said: Tuition fees will be collected after completing all the necessary documents for registration in the adult education system (home system) based on the decision of the Minister of Education and Higher Education No. (11) of 2017 issued on February 23, 2017 regarding determining fees for services provided by the Ministry Education and higher education are as follows:

The Schools Affairs Department also identified the documents required for registration, which are a valid Qatari ID and a copy of it, 4 personal photos, the original passport and a copy of it, the last academic certificate obtained by the student, a recent certified copy, and a statement from the student's employer (if any). As for the certificates received from outside the State of Qatar, they must be equalized from the Certificate Equivalency Department - Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
Regarding the new educational tracks/streams approved for the eleventh grade in the academic year 2022/2023, the School Affairs Department confirmed the adoption of the following educational streams only for home students in all secondary schools, which are:
The literary (Arts) stream, which includes Islamic education subjects - Arabic language - English language - general sciences - general mathematics - geography - history - computing and information technology.
And the scientific stream, which includes Islamic education subjects - Arabic language - English language - mathematics - physics - chemistry - biology - computing and information technology.
About improving the results (GPA), the Schools Affairs Department said: Registration in the twelfth grade is limited to students who wish to improve the GPA for the following cases: Students (Qatari - children of GCC citizens - children of Qatari women) only who succeeded (from the independent secondary system or the previous ministry curriculum without consideration for the year of graduation from high school and according to the system of curricula standards in force in schools.
With regard to textbooks, the Schools Affairs Department emphasized that every school is obligated to hand over to Qatari students and children of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries registered (home system) textbooks free of charge from the school.
As for non-Qatari students, textbooks will be delivered according to the textbook price guide issued by the Department of Financial and Administrative Affairs after paying the fees through the electronic book sale service (public services portal) and providing the school with the electronic payment receipt.
